Celebrate 'National Braai Day' with Molly & Wors on the big screen

If you are looking for something distinctly South African to do on Heritage Day (24 September), and in celebration of National Braai Day, you need look no further than your nearest Ster-Kinekor cinema.  Ster-Kinekor is giving you the perfect way to spend the public holiday: catch a special sneak screening of the wildly popular comedy couple, Molly & Wors, on one of its big screens countrywide.

This homegrown title, based on the successful TV series, forms part of the cinema chain’s recently launched ‘Absoluut Afrikaans Film Festival’ and provides the perfect opportunity to celebrate our country’s wonderful Afrikaans culture. The screenings take place throughout the day and normal ticket prices apply. The film releases nationally on Friday, 27 September.

Molly & Wors follows Wors Visagie (Willie Esterhuizen), who has been a loyal husband to Molly (Lizz Meiring) for the past 26 years, and is father to a son and daughter. His son, Vaatjie (Gerhard Odendaal), has to marry his pregnant girlfriend Shardonay (Cherie van der Merwe). His daughter, Blapsie (Karien Botha), is almost engaged to boyfriend Hardus (Albert de Villiers), but not quite!

Wors works at F1 Fitment Centre in Johannesburg. For the umpteenth time, he is in line to win the ‘Salesman of the Year’ award but, he is yet to win the coveted trophy. Could this just be his lucky year? The only way you will find out is by going to watch the film!

A feast of locally-produced Afrikaans movies are being released on the big screen between September and November this year, in an effort to showcase our country’s local talent and the growing Afrikaans film industry. Celebrate what being a South African is all about by watching the hilarious Molly & Wors on the big screen and supporting our wonderful local talent.
