Robyn Kinghorn chose the right line across the dam and finished 11 seconds ahead of second-place finisher, Samantha Randle with Victoria Earle in third in 21:30m and Michelle Weber finishing fourth.

IT was a moment to savour for Durban North resident, Robyn Kinghorn, who won the women’s titles at the aQuellé Midmar Mile recently. Kinghorn, a third-year-student at the IIE’s Varsity College – Durban North crossed the finish in 21 minutes 16 seconds.

Kinghorn chose the right line across the dam and finished 11 seconds ahead of second-place finisher, Samantha Randle with Victoria Earle in third in 21:30m and Michelle Weber finishing fourth.

Kinghorn has performed admirably in Midmar Mile’s past, with her best ever finish occurring in 2012 where she claimed second in the U13 section of the race.

The former Durban Girls’ College learner has the SA Open Water Nationals coming up in four weeks and has her sights set on the second round of qualifiers for the Tokyo Olympics.
