Goggie swings a resilient ball

When he isn’t spending quality time with his family at home, Craig “Goggie” Alexander is putting in hard earned hours on the cricket pitch.

Craig Alexander, or Goggie, as he is known amongst his teammates and Sunfoil Dolphin fans, is one of the most resilient fast bowlers on the domestic scene.

Like his colleague, Mthandeki “TT” Samson Tshabalala, He is one of most genuine pace bowlers and chief wicket-takers, known for bowling fast with his right-arm and bats in the lower order. Despite a few setbacks in his career, Goggie has always returned stronger and even more powerful than before.

Goggie got his big break playing with the Highveld Lions after he moved to the Western Cape. He faced an injury for the first two seasons between 2009 and 2010 and didn’t feature in the Standard Bank Pro20 but returned with a bang touring with the South African Emerging Team in Australia.

The pace bowler has 84 first class matches and 52 T20 matches. He averages a wicket once every 30.50 runs in the longer format, while in T20s he picks up a scalp every 28.41 runs.

He has a total of 245 wickets and 673 runs under his belt.

Off the field, Alexander is a family man sharing his life with his wife and three children.
