Reader ‘sick and tired’ of reckless taxi drivers

"Every day I take my life in my hands by just venturing out onto the roads."

I DON’T know about anyone else, but I am sick and tired of putting up with taxis drivers who have absolutely no consideration for anybody else on the road. I have the very unfortunate experience of driving down the R102 every morning and again back up in the evening. What I see on a regular basis is unbelievable. They drive up on the wrong side of the road onto oncoming traffic to avoid the queue, go through the red robots and so much more.
I have to say that the stretch of road from North Coast road to the R102 has become a race track not only for taxis but many cars as well. In the nine years that I have lived out that way, I have yet to see a single speed trap on that stretch of the road. No wonder there are continually accidents. Every day I take my life in my hands by just venturing out onto the roads. What a sad situation. I hope that one of these days I will see police actually patrolling this section both during the day and night to stop this speeding carnage. Well we live in hope.
