Call for motorists to obey traffic signs

Please, I implore you, slow down and let people in, it will only take a minute of your time.

THE intersection where Montague enters Umhlanga Rocks Drive, across the road from the Holiday Inn, is an absolute nightmare.
It’s also exceptionally busy right now because its been used as a detour to avoid the roadworks on Herrwood Drive.
People creep forward through the stop street until they are practically in the middle of the single lane going down towards the sea.

Instead of the downwards-moving traffic slowing down to let these cars filter in, they swerve into the lane intended for traffic coming up, wanting to turn right into Montague. On a motorbike, this is particularly daunting as they have no protection if one of these vehicles ploughs into them.
Then there are also the people who go against all the traffic signs to turn right into or out of the Holiday Inn complex. This entrance and exit is only for traffic that needs to turn left. Other traffic should be using the entrance/exit opposite Harley Davidson on The Ridge.

As if this isn’t enough chaos for one intersection, the taxis stop across the entrance to Montague to offload passengers, and if anyone is lost, they also think this is the perfect place to park and phone a friend or re-adjust their GPS.

Please, I implore you, slow down and let people in, it will only take a minute of your time.
Obey the traffic signs on the road, they are not ‘road art’. They are put there so all of us can get to our destinations as safely and as promptly as possible.
