Editor: People are constantly complaining about speeding in their areas, nobody seems to realise the speed these egotistical idiots drive up and down William Campbell Drive La Lucia.
This is a 40 kilometre zone with concealed drive ways.These idiots all drive very high powered SUVs and Mercedes Benz, BMWs Audis etc. All these vehicles have a sort of a dump relief valve fitted and the faster these idiots accelerate the louder these dumper valves are and they get an adrenalin rush out of it.
They come around the circle at the La Lucia Mall or out of the parking lot at the mall and proceed over a speed hump then it is their cue to accelerate as if they are dragsters accelerating out of the blocks up William Campbell Drive.We don’t see Metro or SAPS in this area at all. The only time one gets to see them is when their vehicles are parked in some obscure place then one will find them in the mall shopping.
I know our local councillor has more important things to attend to, but I would appreciate it if he finds time out of his busy schedule to address the problem before someone gets killed. The height of their acceleration over the speed hump 200 metres up Shelbourne Drive comes into William Campbell Drive at a T junction which is a very dangerous inter section at all times.
