DRIVER’s licence renewal is shocking at Verulam. This morning I’ve been trying to get through to someone, anyone, who can help. I needed to know if my driver’s licence is ready for collection but no-one was picking up the phone. I eventually got through, only for the person on the other end to pick up and cut my call! Unbelievable.

I’M a resident in Duffs Road. I believe communities joining hands and fighting crime is amazing in eliminating this scurge that scares us daily. There have a been numerous house breakings and families being held up around 5pm and 7pm in my area. They come with different vehicles scanning the area and then plotting there hit. These criminals use these vehicles in areas such as Durban North, Sunningdale, Avoca and Effingham. We can maybe start a group and communicate with each other to be on the look out for vehicles that we need to keep a lookout for.

I’m a trainee forensic investigator and communicate with police daily and trying to track and make arrests is a difficult task. We can, as residents stop this if we act together. The efforts of Afriforum on this initiative is excellent, keep up the goodwork. Awaiting feedback from other residents.
