Oakridge College

Oakridge the ‘hidden treasure’ of Durban North

Oakridge College is known by some parents as the ‘Hidden Gem’ of Durban North Education, and is a happy, disciplined, co-educational high school. It caters for Grade 8 to 12 learners and has strong academic results in the National Senior Matriculation examinations achieving a 90,6 percent pass in 2022.

Educators at Oakridge are qualified and adopt a professional ethic and all are SACE registered. They expect a high standard of work from the learners, in a manner that is encouraging, this results in learners achieving beyond their abilities.

Oakridge’s learner-centred academic program allows strong academic learners to be challenged and extended and ensures that the weaker learners are not lost in the system. The individuality of different learners is catered for.

Each grade has two or three classes and most classes have no more than 12 learners. By having small classes, each learner is able to receive more personal tuition.

Oakridge is accredited by Umalusi, Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training and has accreditation number

19 SCH01 00771.

Oakridge College, located at 22 Mackeurtan Avenue, has been in existence for 25 years with a 98 percent pass rate from grade 8 to grade 12.

Applications for grade 8 and grade 9 for 2025 are now open, but space is limited. Please contact Nickola Pretorius on 031 563 2221 or 063 228 3494, or email applications@oakridge.co.za
