All invited to view nativity display at Durban North Library

Families can enjoy the nativity scene at the library from now until the first week in January 2025.

A DURBAN North church is on a mission to encourage everyone to embrace the true meaning of Christmas, and that Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

To assist families and children in learning about the story of the birth of Christ, two members of the Catholic Women’s League, Pauline Lotter and Pauline Leclezio, have set up a nativity scene at the Durban North Library for families to view throughout December.

This initiative started when it was suggested that they set up this display to coincide with the week-long Children’s Holiday Programme at the public library at the time.

“We encourage parents to bring their children along to enjoy the display and talk about the wonderful story of the birth of Christ,” said Leclezio, who initiated the nativity display 20 years ago, and was then joined by Lotter 10 years ago.

“Our Lady of Fatima Church is always keen on sharing the miraculous story of the birth of Christ, by displaying inspiring nativity scenes,” said Lotter.

In addition, there is also a beautiful nativity display at Pick n Pay Hyper by the Sea, set up by the St Vincent de Paul Society of Our Lady of Fatima Parish.
