“The suspects lost control of their vehicle and crashed into the fence of a business on Chris Hani Road. Two suspects were apprehended, and the scene has been cordoned off,” he said.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said that paramedics treated one of the suspects injured in the shoot-out.

“It is alleged that SAPS were chasing the suspects who crashed, and a gunfight ensued. Paramedics treated one of the suspects who had sustained gunshot wounds to the lower half of his body. I would encourage motorists to avoid the area at all costs as it is an active crime scene,” he said.

Jamieson added that at this stage, the events leading up to the shooting are unknown, however, police will be investigating further.
