Truck driver dies in freak accident on Chris Hani Road
The driver and only occupant of the truck was killed in the accident.
ONE person has died after a serious truck accident on the corner of Chris Hani Road (North Coast Road) and Victor Road on Monday afternoon (September 23).
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson said the accident occurred at about 16:00.

“On arrival, paramedics found carnage as they discovered that a heavy container load on the rear of a truck had unhinged and crushed the driver in the cab. The driver and only occupant in the vehicle, a male believed to be in his forties, had sustained major injuries and, unfortunately, was declared deceased on the scene by paramedics.
“The eThekweni Fire Department was called to assist in extricating the driver. At this stage, the events leading up to the incident are unknown, however, SAPS and metro police were in attendance and will be investigating further,” he said.
