Minors flee attempted kidnapping in Effingham
The boys were walking on Effingham Road when two men tried to kidnap them.
TWO boys, aged 12 and 14, escaped nearly being kidnapped on Effingham Road on Saturday, August 24.
The incident took place at about 18:00 while the boys were walking along the road.
They noticed two men exit a vehicle that had suddenly pulled over. The men tried to force the boys into the car but failed.

Swift Private Security dispatched several response vehicles to the scene after receiving numerous alerts from the community.
“Fortunately, the boys managed to escape by jumping into a nearby resident’s yard. The alleged kidnappers immediately fled the scene when their attempt failed. They headed towards Chris Hani Road,” said Swift Private Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.
Although the boys were unharmed, they were left traumatised after the ordeal.
“Our Swift Control Centre has contacted the boys’ parents, who picked them up. Please be on high alert for a white Toyota Corolla with a noticeable dent on the right-hand side, and report any suspicious activity,” said Sooklall.
SAPS was notified and will investigate further.
