Here are five reasons to appreciate ambulance drivers:

1. Ambulance drivers, also known as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), require specialised training and certification to operate emergency vehicles and provide medical care.

 2. They work in high-stress environments, making quick decisions in life-or-death situations and must remain calm and composed under pressure.

 3. Ambulance drivers often work long, irregular hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, and may face exposure to infectious diseases and traumatic situations.

4. Their roles extend beyond driving; they provide medical care, such as patient assessment, CPR and wound management, and need to communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare teams.

 5. Ambulance drivers play a critical role in the healthcare system, bridging the gap between emergency situations and medical facilities, and their expertise and compassion make a significant difference in patient outcomes and experiences.
