COMPETITION: Stunts to keep you on the edge of your seat at Durban Virginia Airshow

Besides the incredible displays by some of best aviation performers in the country, the day offers ground exhibits, a market, delicious food and refreshment stalls, and activities for all ages to enjoy.

AFTER winning the 2023 Airshow of the Year Award, Durban Virginia Airshow brought to you by Standard Bank, returns to the city on Saturday, August 31.

Some of the best aviation performers in the country are heading up the airshow this year, and that, coupled with the Indian Ocean, is the perfect backdrop for these incredible displays.

This year’s action-packed line-up includes displays by The South African Air Force (SAAF), five-time South African aerobatics champion, Patrick Davidson, the Marksmen Aerobatic Team, On the Move’s Tristan Eeles, Juba Joubert’s aerobatic helicopter display and an Execujet flypast.

Spectators will also get to see a performance by aviation legend Scully Levin.

“The Durban Virginia Airshow has, for many years, brought KwaZulu-Natal’s aviation community together through an event that is a must-attend spectacle on the Durban calendar. “Our long-established relationships in the aviation industry through our general aviation-media networks, ensure the programme comprises the pinnacle of aerial-display pilots, many well-known on the international stage,” said Hayley Horan of the Smoke On…Go! Foundation, one of the organisers of the show.

The Durban Virginia Airshow has a long and iconic history in Durban, with 57 years of spectacular manoeuvres and acrobatic flips thrilling thousands of spectators.

Spectators can look forward to a dramatic theatre in the sky and a range of ground exhibits, a market, delicious food and refreshment stalls, and activities for all ages to enjoy.

Gates open at 08:30, and tickets cost R140 for adults and R100 for U18s. Get your tickets from Ticketpro or at the gate on the day.

Only a limited number of tickets are available.
