THIS year’s Belgotex Elite Club Challenge (BECC) celebrated its 10th-year milestone in style with some exciting hockey on offer for locals and visitors.
The challenge, held at the Riverside Sports Complex in Durban North, featured 24 top hockey teams from across the country competing for the largest prize money of R30 000 each for the winning men’s and women’s teams.
In the finals of the competition, Johannesburg-based Crusaders Hockey Team triumphed in the women’s division while the Central Hockey Club from Cape Town retained the men’s title for the second year consecutively.
The Riverside Hockey Club men’s team finished in third place, and the women’s team finished in fourth place overall.
The organisers of the challenge also congratulated the teams who have qualified for next year’s challenge, ensuring that the spirit of competition and the excellence that exudes from this event continues into 2025.
