It was an alert officer who noticed the man behaving suspiciously while carrying a bag full of items.

When Marshall Security armed response officer questioned him about how he came into possession of the items, the man could not give a reasonable explanation and was immediately apprehended.

“Whilst on routine patrol in the Park Hill area, one of our armed response officers noticed a male acting suspiciously carrying a bag at the corner of Atterbury Road and Tramway Road.  The male was interviewed and searched, revealing various power tools and house-breaking implements in the bag,” said Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell.

Greenwood Park SAPS was then called to the scene, and once again, the suspect could not provide the officers with a satisfactory explanation for the items.

“The stolen items and the suspect were then handed over to Greenwood Park SAPS for further investigation and processing,” he said.
