The event also featured captivating displays by Durban Crest Majorettes, a specially curated kiddies’ corner for the little ones, an energetic 5-a-side soccer tournament, and a bustling flea market.

“At its heart, the event aimed to promote youth empowerment and resilience. Beyond showcasing talent, it provided invaluable opportunities for young people to shadow and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of event management. Moreover, the fest served as a means to raise sponsorships and funds for junior heroes excelling in sports or participating in international exchange programmes, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to supporting local youth,” said Michelle Tryon, the visionary behind Destiny Fulfilled.

“It takes a village, and our village shone bright to bring the dream of Youth Fest to realisation. The success of the event was attributed to the efforts of Tracy Spalding and Hayley Fernandez, the project manager and deputy manager, as well as the broader community,” she added.

Tryon expressed gratitude to all involved, including sponsors whose support was crucial to the event’s success.
