Woman abandoned in Effingham after hijacking

Thankfully, the victim wasn't physically harmed but after being driven around Durban for about two hours with the suspects, she was significantly traumatised.

A MOTORIST has been left traumatised following a two-hour hijacking ordeal which occurred on Tuesday evening.
Swift Private Security spokesperson Sanveer Sooklall said they had received multiple calls and messages requesting assistance on Belmont Road, Effingham Heights, where a female victim had been pushed out of a vehicle.
“The Swift Private Security Control Centre promptly dispatched several armed response officers who arrived immediately on the scene,” he said.
“According to the highly traumatised victim, she had been at Durban Beachfront at 16:00 in her silver Toyota Aygo when she was hijacked by three armed suspects in a white Suzuki,” he added.
During the hijacking, the suspects threatened her and demanded money, forcing her to make multiple withdrawals.

“After driving her around Durban for approximately two hours, the suspects pushed her out of the vehicle. She then ran to the nearest house for help. Fortunately, the victim was not physically harmed but was left highly traumatised by the ordeal,” added Sooklall.

SAPS soon arrived at the scene in Belmont Road and transported the traumatised victim to the police station.
