Pedestrians targeted in armed muggings in Greenwood Park and Avoca
In both cases the victims remember seeing a white Suzuki flee the scene. According to a security company in the area, there has been a spike in muggings targeting pedestrians.
A PEDESTRIAN was robbed of his belongings on Celtic Road in Greenwood Park on Wednesday evening just after 19:00.
The incident came an hour after an attempted robbery of another pedestrian on Victor Road in Avoca.
According to Swift Private Security spokesperson, Sanveer Sooklall, a white Suzuki, was used in both incidents.

“In the Avoca incident, armed suspects tried to rob a pedestrian but he managed to evade them and escape unharmed, without losing any valuables. The resident reported that after he escaped, the vehicle immediately fled towards Chris Hani Road.
“Shortly after this incident, another pedestrian was targeted in Greenwood Park as he was returning home from the shop. The second resident said that two suspects jumped out from the back seat of the vehicle and held him at gunpoint, taking his Samsung tablet and wallet. The suspects then fled towards Park Station Road,” he said.
Sooklall said they had noticed a spike in crimes targeting pedestrians.
No arrests have been made.
