DA leader John Steenhuisen casts his vote at Northwood voting station

Steenhuisen was accompanied at the school by several leaders in the DA.

FORMER Durban North councillor and Democratic Alliance (DA) leader John Steenhuisen cast his vote on Wednesday morning (May 29) at Northwood School.

Steenhuisen was accompanied by his daughter, Caroline, at a voting station he’s been voting at since 1994.

He said this year’s election is a critical one for South Africa and added he was pleased with the turn-out of young voters.

He encouraged voters to choose change and said a DA-led coalition government would bring about change.

“The DA’s campaign has resonated with the sentiment of many voters who are looking to rescue South Africa and install a new government that can effectively address the country’s challenges,” he said.

Steenhuisen was also joined by the mayor of the uMngeni Municipality, Chris Pappas.
