Community outreach begins in Glen Anil

A GLEN Anil church has opened its doors to members of the community in the area who are in need of some guidance, love and care by introducing a new programme for those in need to attend..

Pastor Patsy Naidoo of Unlimited Ministries Durban said that in her line of work, she has seen and heard from families in need and what they require, whether professional advice, counselling or simply just a shoulder to lean on, which is why she initiated the Crowns of Splendor programme.
“The programme is aimed at the elderly, but anyone can attend with the main aim of getting everyone together to socialise. We also plan on offering advice on health, legal issues and counselling through professionals who sponsor their time and expertise. Every month will have a different theme and offer different services which will empower all those who attend,” said Naidoo.
The first Crowns of Splendor meeting was held last Wednesday where Naidoo and her volunteers heard about the challenges some faced in their personal lives.
“Mainly senior citizens attended the meeting, and many broke down after speaking about all the pain they were harbouring. Sometimes people just need someone to listen,” she said.
The next meeting takes place on March 26 and will take the form of a Wellness Day and will include professional advice, health check-ups, beauty therapy and professional minor treatments.
No booking is required, and everyone is welcome to attend. Doors open from 08:00.
