Prepped 4 Prep and The Wellness Centre Trust partnered last year on the Preppi’s Bags of Love campaign which saw that children in grades 1 to 7 in Kenville Primary School received stationery packs comprised of all the schooling essentials they needed.

Speaking to Northglen News, Prepped 4 Prep founder Caron Rademeyer said an announcement was made on East Coast Radio calling on the corporate and private sectors to sponsor a bag, but little did they know that the radio station would sponsor R20 000 towards the campaign.

“Then SPAR KZN also joined and made it possible for 250 children to receive stationery packs,” she said.
Founder of The Wellness Centre Trust, Eloise Briggeman, said the centre and Rademeyer had teamed up for the third time on this particular project.

“The trust assists by identifying schools in need and sourcing sponsors. It’s a wonderful initiative which sees schoolchildren in need receive stationery packs at the beginning of each school year,” said Briggeman.
Rademeyer said seeing the smiles on the children’s faces when they received their packs was a heartwarming feeling.

Linda Malembe, principal of Kenville Primary, said she was most grateful to everyone involved in making the initiative possible.

“I firmly believe that access to education is the fundamental right of every child regardless of circumstances or background. Sadly, not every child has the resources to pursue their dreams,” she said.

“All sponsors involved have made a significant contribution to the community and, most importantly, our most precious gems of society, our schoolchildren,” said Malembe.

She said her heart was filled with joy and gratitude as the stationery sponsorship has assisted the school in its humble endeavor to provide quality education for children.

“This contribution will not only lighten the burden on parents and educators but will instill a sense of hope and motivate our young learners,” she added.
