Missing-letters mystery solved in Durban North

Signage letters were stolen from a hotel on Kenneth Kaunda Drive.

STOLEN signage letters from a hotel on Kenneth Kaunda Drive were recovered after two suspects, who were behaving suspiciously, were stopped and searched by Marshall Security officers yesterday.

“The Special Operations Team noticed that signage was missing from the wall of a well-known hotel. Two individuals who were in the vicinity acted suspiciously upon noticing our team members passing by. Our team immediately acted on this and stopped to interview the two males. A search revealed numerous metal letters in their possession, which were confirmed to have been stolen from the hotel’s wall,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

The owner of the hotel was unaware that the letters had been stolen. He was contacted and after arriving at the scene, said he wanted to open a case with Greenwood Park SAPS who also arrived at the scene.

The suspects were transported to Greenwood Park SAPS and will be facing charges of theft and being in possession of suspected stolen items.
