Angler stabbed in attempted robbery on uMhlanga Beach

The incident occurred at the Durban View Park Beach.

A 43-YEAR-OLD fisherman was stabbed in an attempted robbery on uMhlanga Beach during the early hours of Sunday morning.

The incident occurred at the Durban View Park Beach.

According to Prem Balram, spokesperson for Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the attempted robbery took place at about 03:00.

“The victim contacted RUSA, and our officers were dispatched to the scene. The victim explained that while fishing, he was confronted by two suspects inquiring about the time. One of the men grabbed his bag when the fisherman resisted. The suspect produced a knife and stabbed him in his left shoulder.

“The robbers fled but were pursued by the injured male. The suspects dropped the stolen bag during the foot chase. Reaction officers conducted a search for the suspects, but no arrests were made,” he said.
