uMhlanga ratepayers body to host public meeting

The meeting is open to all uMhlanga residents and ratepayers members.

THE uMhlanga Ratepayers’ and Residents’ Association (URRA) will host a public meeting on Tuesday, November 14 to provide feedback to its members on ongoing municipal issues.

In June this year, the rates body was formed with the aim of addressing service delivery issues as well as holding the eThekwini Municipality accountable.

Terri MacLarty, chairperson of the association, said the meeting is open to all uMhlanga residents and ratepayers members.

“This meeting is to provide feedback to the residents on all the things we’ve achieved so far since the formation of the ratepayers body. We will also be addressing service delivery issues in the ward, including developments at the Oceans Mall Development, the current water-crisis situation and the sewerage infrastructure network.

“There will also be an address by members of Blue Security and Marshall Security who will be giving an update on crime which has escalated in the past few weeks. They will be making the community aware of the risks at the moment.  The meeting is open to ratepayer members and non-members as we are looking to encourage additional memberships,” she said.

The stakeholder feedback meeting takes place on Tuesday, November 14 at The Capital Pearls, uMhlanga, 5th floor (18:30 for 19:00).
