SA Rugby apologises for exclusion of certain media during Trophy Tour

Two factors influenced SA Rugby's inability to deliver to some accredited media on the day.

SA RUGBY has apologised to the media who were accredited to cover the Durban leg of the Trophy Tour as certain arrangements were made but not fulfilled

Sindiswa Ximba, media coordinator for the event, said SA Rugby understood the unhappiness caused, and the reasons are as follows:

“The arrangements that had been put in place were not delivered, and we understand any unhappiness with the inconvenience caused.

“In the first instance, non-accredited personnel from various local delegations gained access to the dedicated media vehicle, meaning some media were unable to be accommodated. In the second instance, the drivers of the service provider contracted by SA Rugby called a lightning strike against their employer, leaving the media stranded. This was outside of our control,” said Ximba.

“SA Rugby deeply regret these incidents – which were exclusive to this leg of the tour – and once again, apologises for the inconvenience,” she added.
