EMERGENCY services responded to an attempted cash-in-transit heist and bombing on Queen Nandi Drive just after 19:00 this evening (Wednesday).

Spokesperson for Emer-G-Med paramedics Kyle van Reenen said no serious injuries or fatalities had been reported.
“On arrival, the armoured vehicle was found to have been bombed and was engulfed in flames. Luckily, there were no serious injuries or fatalities reported,” he said.
According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, the incident occurred on the N2 southbound between KwaMashu and Queen Nandi Drive.
“Immediately, paramedics made their way and met with SAPS. Once safe medics entered the scene, which was cornered off by SAPS, they found a cash-in-transit vehicle well alight,” he said.
Jamieson added that the guards were treated for minor injuries and refused further treatment.
The South African Police Service is investigating.
