Pop into PACT’s pop-up adoption day in uMhlanga

PACT was established in March 2012 and has rescued, rehabilitated, sterilised, fed, rehomed and taken care of thousands of animals, but the challenge of finding homes for the rescued cats and dogs continues to date.

IF you’re looking for a fur companion to add to your family, Phoenix Animal Care Treatment (PACT) may have the perfect fit for your home.

The organisation is holding a pop-up adoption day at various venues throughout Durban North and uMhlanga. The second one takes place this Saturday, September 2 at Petisco Umhlanga on 23 Lagoon Drive from 10:00 to 13:00.

PACT has numerous dogs loaded with cuteness and personality and who are simply just eager to find their forever homes.

Founder Neeri Naidoo said the aim of the initiative is to home as many animals as possible to alleviate the overflow at the kennels which has rendered them unable to rescue any more animals.

“The pop-up adoption day is being held in memory of a very special boy named Drax who died recently,” she said.

“The soaring kennel fees and the upkeep costs, such as medication and food, are the knock-on effect we feel as a result of low adoptions. We urge the community to pop by and show our dogs some love, and hopefully even adopt one,” she said.

She said each dog has a story as to how they came into PACT’s care, which adds to each of their unique characters.

“There are so many special boys and girls that are waiting to go to a new home. If you are unable to attend the adoption days, you can still contact us to arrange to meet the dogs,” she said.
