Online entries open for Amashova Durban Classic

This year’s Amashova offers participants a choice between three routes, a 106km, a 65km and a 38km route.

ON October 22, cycling enthusiasts from around the country will take on the challenge of the oldest road cycle race – the Amashova Durban Classic – which is now open for online entries.

The Amashova Durban Classic retraces the historic ‘Comrades’ route from Pietermaritzburg to Durban. With different route options to choose from, riders can pick their challenge based on their skills and preferences.

Whether you’re a passionate cyclist craving a 106km adventure, a spirited rider aiming for 65km, or a newcomer embracing the 38km route, there is a ride especially tailored for you.

What makes this race exceptional is the exclusive privilege of full road closure, allowing participants to have the freedom of the city while enjoying scenic landscapes from Pietermaritzburg to Durban.

Beyond being just another cycling race, this event stands as a celebration of community and camaraderie and is coined as the ‘most fun you can have on a bike’. Families, friends and supporters join together, soaking up the fun-filled atmosphere of this much-anticipated annual event.

To enter, visit www.shova.co.za; online entries close at 09:00 on Monday, September 25.
