Watch all the heroes in action at Emergency Services Awareness Day

The organisation was formed back in 2015 to aid reduction of crime in the community and has helped fund various crime-prevention initiatives as well as initiatives that are not crime-related.

SEVERAL law enforcement, medical and rescue agencies will feature at the Emergency Services Awareness Day on Saturday, August 26 Northwood Crusaders Sports Club from 9:00 to 14:00.

The event, hosted by the Law Enforcement Foundation, returns after fours years and promises to be bigger and better than before.

“Members of the community will enjoy demos from various emergency and rescue sectors, as well, and meet some of the people who are responsible for saving lives and fighting crime on a daily basis,” said organiser Gill Rall.

The event, which was placed on hold during the Covid-19 pandemic, will see the Durban North and uMhlanga CPFs, SAPS, Metro Police, various security companies, medical personnel and all other emergency services in the area come together for a day of sharing information and holding demonstrations.

“The foundation works closely with these organisations. If you are wondering what happens behind the scenes, this is the event to attend to find out. It’s important for the community to get to know who their heroes are and what they do on a daily basis,” she added.

“We’ve raised funds to purchase a boat for SAPS and provided PPE for members during the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Rall.
