Three suspects arrested after robbery in uMhlanga

One of the suspects involved in the robbery is believed to be a repeat offender.

A ROBBERY incident, which took place at the intersection of High Street and Umhlanga Ridge Boulevard last night, resulted in three suspects being arrested – one believed to be a repeat offender.

During the robbery, one of the suspects stole a cellphone from a member of the public before fleeing by car.

Marshall Security Dispatch Centre received a call about the incident and immediately disseminated details about the suspects and their vehicle to all team members to be on the lookout.

The vehicle was spotted a short while later on Moore Road in Glenwood by members of the Special Operations Team, and the cellphone was promptly recovered.

“The suspects have been handed over to the Durban North SAPS for further investigation. The one suspect was arrested by our team members back in May and is currently out on bail,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

Durban North SAPS will investigate further.
