ARE you looking for something to do? Well, look no further – here’s a list of events happening in Durban and surrounds.

Sunday, May 7

Join Ronel Bricknell and Edith Sturgeon as they host a heartwarming Keller Williams Red Day event to support The House of Love and Hope (HOLAH) – a home for special-needs orphans. HOLAH is a baby home that was started by Kim Brown and her partner, Leanne Lorrance, after they saw the need to provide abandoned children with a safe and happy place until they can be placed with adoptive families. The public is invited to come together and make a difference in the lives of special children – the charity event will be held on Sunday, May 7 from 10:00 to 15:00 at MacNut Farm, 13 Lello Road, Assagay. On the day, there will be food stalls, games, raffles, crafts, face painting and lots of entertainment. To book your stand, WhatsApp Ronel Bricknell on 082 721 3627.

Tuesday, May 9 to Friday, May 12

Famed South African singer, songwriter, playwright and musical director, David Kramer, has been spending time at Kearsney College, coaching and directing the school’s music and drama students for next week’s production, on May 9 to 12 May, of Kat and the Kings.

It’s the first time he has granted permission for the award-winning musical, written in 1996, to be produced by a school or amateur theatre company.

It’s a fast-paced show full of humour and laughter, coupled with toe-tapping songs composed by the late Taliep Petersen and Kramer’s witty lyrics in a rock-’n-roll style. Kearsney is proud to have been granted permission and to have had Kramer’s intimate involvement.

The show runs next week for four nights – Tuesday, May 9 to Friday, May 12. Booking is through Quicket.

Tuesday, May 16
