Marshall Security armed response officers and Special Operations Team responded and freed the trapped victim by cutting open the burglar bars. They also assisted with medical care.

“The homeowner returned home to find that their driveway gate had been forced open. Their partner was found locked in the bathroom. The victim had been held up and severely assaulted by four armed suspects before being forced into the bathroom, said Marshall Security spokesperson, Tyron Powell.

“The victim’s phone was also taken which prevented them from activating the tracking device,” he added.

The vehicle tracking company was notified, and the device was activated. The vehicle was found abandoned on Raymond Place in the Cato Manor area.

Netcare911 Paramedics treated the victim who had sustained moderate injuries and required intermediate life support to be stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital.

“Marshall Security would like to extend our appreciation to all the teams involved in the recovery of the stolen vehicle and to all the CPF members and Umgeni Neighbourhood Watch for offering assistance at the scene,” he said.

Greenwood Park SAPS will be investigating the case of house robbery.
