Treasure trove awaits at Sunningdale charity shop

Items which are in good condition can be donated to the charity shop.

HOME decor, clothes and accessories, toys and books are just a few of the items you can find at the SPCA Charity Shop in Sunningdale.

The store, which opened its current spot at the Sunningdale Centre in March last year, has some of the finest items on offer.

As you enter, you will notice vases, tea sets, dinner plates, serving platters, a wide variety of books, instruments, vintage collectibles – all in good condition.

Tanya Fleischer, marketing manager for Durban and Coast SPCA, said donations came from members of the public or businesses who no longer have any use for their goods.

“Anyone can donate, and anything that is in fair condition is accepted,” she said.

“Our store is a veritable treasure trove, bursting with character – from vintage collectibles, to books, gifts and furniture – mostly pre-loved but new merchandise, too. Stock is constantly refreshed. By shopping with us, you’re supporting the hundreds of animals in our care,” said Fleischer.

Currently, there are approximately 100 dogs and puppies and 50 cats and kittens under the SPCA’s care.

“The proceeds are not earmarked for anything specific and are used where needed most,” she added.

“All items must be purchased in store on a first-come first-serve basis. We are unable to keep stock aside for anyone. Certain items sell very quickly, so pop in regularly if you can in order to avoid disappointment,” added Fleischer.

Pictures of new stock are posted regularly on the Durban SPCA Facebook page and Instagram page (@spcadbn), however, they are unable to assist with requests on pricing and availability of items via social media.
