Marshall Security armed response officers and special operations team members responded to the incident on Gumtree Road, where a white Ford Drifter was stolen from the premises during the course of the night.

“The suspects had forced open the driveway gates. It was established that the vehicle was fitted with a tracking device from Tracker SA, and the client immediately made contact with them to activate the device,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

The stolen vehicle was found abandoned in a yard in the Ntuzuma area.

As teams were in the process of escorting the stolen vehicle to Kwamashu SAPS, special operations team members were asked to assist Tracker SA in finding a gold Toyota Etios that had been stolen via a highjacking on Inanda Road in the Sea Cow Lake area earlier that evening.

The hijacked vehicle was also found abandoned yet again in a yard in the Ntuzuma area.

“According to eyewitnesses, multiple suspects were seen fleeing from the hijacked vehicle and from the yard of the house where the vehicle was parked, just prior to the arrival of our members,” said Powell.

After searching the premises for the keys to the hijacked vehicle, a replica firearm, a police uniform and two flat-screen TVs that are believed to have been stolen were also found.
