The collaboration was first discussed at a festival where Prince and Natalie performed in 2021, where the jazz vocalist expressed interest in experimenting and exploring different styles of music to expand her musical offerings.

“Having written and produced music in the styles of Jazz, Pop, Gospel and R&B, I was intrigued by the possibilities that could come from working with someone as experienced and knowledgeable with this genre as Prince is,” said Rungan.

The songstress believes that their friendship over many years helped her move into this musical space.
