Glenashley crafts vendor shares his work
Cloude Ndlovu has been making and selling crafts in Glenashley for the past 11 years.
WHILE the Christmas season is a time to spend with family and close friends, reminiscing and reflecting on the year, for one street vendor, it is a time to push the selling of his handmade crafts.
Located on the corner of Ashley Avenue and Umhlanga Rocks Drive, Cloude Ndlovu has been making and selling crafts in Glenashley for the past 11 years, a business he says he started to make ends meet.

The Zimbabwean national says watching others making crafts is how he mastered the skill.
“I learnt how to make crafts watching friends make them. I wish to go home for Christmas, but things are so bad that I can’t even go home. I cannot afford to go to Zimbabwe, so I will stay here and sell my crafts,” said Ndlovu.

Ndlovu said the business of crafts requires you to be patient to achieve what you desire.
“It takes perseverance because without it you won’t do anything or go anywhere in life,” he said.
