Effingham Heights resident cable-tied in house robbery

The suspects fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla.

A MAN in his 30s was held up at gunpoint and cable-tied while armed suspects ransacked his home in the Effingham Heights area on Tuesday morning.

Sanveer Sooklall, Swift Private Security spokesperson, said the victim was unharmed in the incident on Lakson Place.

“The suspects stole various items, including TVs, jewellery, laptops and other valuables. They fled the scene in a white Toyota Corolla (registration unknown). The incident occurred just after 10:40,” he said.

Two days later, an elderly couple were held up in a house robbery in Avoca Hills.

In that incident, three suspects, two of whom were armed, ransacked the home, taking various items before stealing the homeowner’s VW Polo.

The vehicle would later be recovered in Ntuzuma.
