THE Oceans Mall, part of the R4.3b mixed-use Oceans Umhlanga Development, is set to open its doors to shoppers on Tuesday, November 15.
On Friday, the mayor, Mxolisi Kaunda, KZN Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube and other guests were given a tour of the newly constructed mall which has seen the creation of around 6 000 jobs during construction and 2 500 permanent jobs.
The Oceans development is seen as a catalytic development by the City of Durban which has attracted top national and international brands.

The mall boasts two large, state-of-the-art anchor tenants – Woolworths and Checkers.
More than 90% of the mall’s 120 stores are let out already and are filled with both well-known national and sought-after international brands to satisfy the most discerning of shoppers.
Premier Dube-Ncube added, the mall was a massive investment for the province.
“The opening of the Oceans Mall occurs as the province is gearing up for the festive season which will see throngs of visitors come to KZN to spend their hard-earned income. Not only is this investment a huge vote of confidence in the economy, but it means that our province will now have some of the high-end retail shops that were not available here before,” she said.
