Suspect arrested for Durban North burglary

Two thieves attempted to burgle a vacant property. One suspect was apprehended while the second suspect managed to evade arrest.

A SUSPECT was arrested by Marshall Security after breaking into vacant premises in Durban North.

Marshall Security Spokesperson Tyron Powell says that Armed Response officers responded to an alert by a client on Wimbledon Place that there were suspects in the neighbouring vacant premises.

“Multiple Armed Response officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on the scene within minutes. As our Armed Response officers entered the vacant property, two suspects were spotted and immediately started to flee on foot. One suspect was apprehended while the second suspect, unfortunately, managed to evade arrest,” he said.

Durban North SAPS were called to the scene.

“Unfortunately, due to the vacant house being severely stripped and damaged already from previous house break-ins and with the owners no longer residing in the area, the suspect was warned and released,” he said.
