One killed in M4 crash

Some passengers were ejected from one of the vehicles involved in the crash.

ONE person has died while several others were injured in an accident on the M4 near Swapo Road (Broadway) in the early hours of Saturday morning.

According to Medi-Response Paramedics spokesperson Paul Herbst, the accident occurred at about 02:50.

“On arrival of crews, it was ascertained that two vehicles had been travelling on the southbound carriageway when one of the vehicles allegedly rear-ended another.

“One of the vehicles rolled and came to a rest on the northbound lane, ejecting multiple occupants. One person was declared dead on scene while two others were treated for injuries ranging from moderate to serious,” Herbst said.

He added the driver of the second vehicle absconded from the scene.
