Briardene business break-in suspect found in roof

A number of break-in tools were also found in the suspect’s possession.

A SUSPECT hiding in the roof of a Briardene business was arrested on Monday morning just after 02:00 by members of Marshall Security.

According to the company’s spokesperson, Tyron Powell, the suspect was found with copper pipes, believed to have been stolen from the premises.

“Our dispatch centre received multiple alarm activations from a business premises on Chris Hani Road (North Coast Road). Our officers arrived on the scene and searched the property. They found one burglar hiding in the roof of the property. The burglar was immediately arrested. He was found in possession of stolen copper pipes and break-in implements,” he said

Powell added the suspect was placed in the custody of the Greenwood Park SAPS.
