Final call for online entries for SPAR Women’s Challenge

Find out how to run the hybrid event – either by running your own route or by joining a race.

IF you’d still like to enter the SPAR Women’s Virtual Challenge online, today is your last day.

The good news is that SPAR KZN announced last week that the 5km race can now also be run in conjunction with Parkrun on Saturday, September 3.

The Virtual Challenge was a compromise made due to the uncertainty of Covid-19 regulations earlier in 2022, and as pandemic regulations have been removed, the organisers have added a physical event in KZN to make it a hybrid challenge.

One of the ambassadors is Durban actress Lisa Bobbert who is excited to complete the run at Parkrun.

“I will be at the Parkrun this year, and yes, I will definitely be walking it,” she said with a laugh.

“My friends and family will be joining me, and hopefully, I get to meet all of you lovely men and women from in and around Durban,” she said.

Durban has three specific areas where the race can be run:

Registration takes place between 10:00 and 18:00 on Thursday, September 1 and Friday, September 2 at Suncoast.

Participants can collect their race packs and race numbers between 10:00 and 16:00 at the Suncoast.

“Let’s do this. We have all been through so much in the past couple of years, especially in KZN, so let’s get together and RISE! We are still here, we have survived, and now is the time to celebrate life,” said Bobbert.
