Best of Durban: Readers take a bow

The Best of Durban Readers' Choice Awards has named their winners for 2024!

LAST year, we thought we were the bee’s knees when our readers voted 261 413 times for the best businesses in Durban. We had no idea that this year, our readers would more than double that effort, casting 429 503 votes. That’s a 64% increase.

Best of Durban is a Caxton Local Media initiative, the newspaper conglomerate behind the newspapers you see in your postboxes weekly: the Highway Mail, the Northglen News, the Berea Mail and the Queensburgh News. Its aim is simple: encourage our thousands of readers to reveal the businesses that excel. They do this by firstly nominating the cream of the crop and then voting for the business.

That’s where we come in – we provide the platform for our readers to do this, and we direct other customers to their top-tier service.

Our aim now is to let everyone in Durban know about the stars of the show.

First, we have placed the winning businesses on the Best of Durban website: www.bestofdurban.co.za, then all our newspapers hit the streets, starting off strong with the Queensburgh News today, followed by Northglen News on Tuesday, Highway Mail on Wednesday and concluding with Berea Mail on Thursday.
