The city of eThekwini has also declared its readiness for the biggest horse racing event in Africa saying they have pulled all stops for it to be a success with safety plans in place.
“This will have a contribution of approximately R66 Billion in the City’s GDP, creating 11900 employment opportunities,” said eThekwini’s Economic Development and Planning committee chairperson Thembo Ntuli.
Ntuli said law enforcement are on high alert.
“They have been working tirelessly to roll out an integrated and watertight safety plan to ensure our visitors and residents have a safe and memorable event. Police will maintain high visibility around the Greyville area, and they will be complemented by the private security. The Metro Police’s Public Order Policing Unit remains on high alert and will be on standby should their service be required,” said Ntuli.
