Sherwood-based general practitioner and aesthetics medicine specialist, Dr Raboobee, shared some interesting facts about aesthetic medicine and told us what her three most popular procedures are and what the procedures entail of.

WITH plastic surgery gaining popularity in the last few years, people have become less adverse to the idea that a few surgical alterations here and there may not be such a bad thing. However, some people are still sceptical, holding onto the fear that the procedure could go wrong and their face or body could end up botched. There is, however, a branch of modern medicine that is less invasive and can help you fix a few of those physical issues that you may have had for some time that you would like to work on – it’s called aesthetic medicine.

Aesthetic medicine is a developing clinical speciality distinct from plastic surgery, providing minimally invasive medical treatments to enhance patients’ satisfaction with their physical appearance. The procedures are elective and performed on adult patients who are healthy.

To find out more about aesthetic medicine, we spoke with Dr Mussarrath Raboobee, a general practitioner based in Sherwood with an interest in skin disease and aesthetic medicine. She started practising in 2015 and says there has been a rise in interest from people about aesthetic procedures which are a great option for people who are uncomfortable with undergoing invasive procedures.
