Playhouse calls on primary school learners to support educative play

Created specifically for junior and senior primary school learners, ‘Sthandwa and the Nature Thieves’ combines skilled actors and innovative puppetry in a captivating story.

THE Playhouse Loft Theatre is calling Durban’s primary school learners for an adventurous and informative story play called Sthandwa and the Nature Thieves. The show will run daily at The Playhouse Loft Theatre from October 20 to October 28.

Sthandwa and the Nature Thieves is a tale of adventure, during which audiences are invited to enter a magical world that highlights the goals of sustainable and healthy living, rights and responsibilities, and the interconnectedness of all living things.

Intent on finding out why she is no longer able to communicate with the natural world, Sthandwa, the heroine, sets off on a journey of discovery. As the story unfolds, she is entrusted with a secret formula that will restore order, but first, she needs to overcome her fear and confront the Nature Thieves, a band of reckless and destructive creatures who are responsible for the degraded state of the planet due to greed.

Created specifically for junior and senior primary school learners, Sthandwa and the Nature Thieves combines skilled actors and innovative puppetry in a captivating story.

The play was conceived and is directed by award-winning director Ralph Lawson and promises a thrilling and thought-provoking theatrical experience.
