Man arrested after allegedly stealing copper cable in Briardene

Marshall Security, together with SAPS Phoenix Trio Crimes Unit, located the man after following up on information.

A MAN, who allegedly stole R350 000 worth of copper cable from a business premises in Briardene recently, was arrested and detained at Greenwood Park Police Station.

Marshall Security, together with SAPS Phoenix Trio Crimes Unit, located the wanted suspect to a residence in Isipingo and arrested him immediately, after following up on information.

“Stolen electrical cables, to the value of approximately R200,000, were recovered, and a wanted suspect was arrested in a joint operation by members of our special operations team and the SAPS Phoenix Trio Crimes Unit, on Tuesday,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

After questioning the man, Marshall Security and the SAPS Phoenix Trio Crimes Unit, were led to a location in the Bonela area where the stolen cabling, to the approximate value of R200 000, was recovered.

“It was established that the suspect had been wanted for multiple similar cases of theft and was detained at the Greenwood Park SAPS for further processing and investigation,” said Powell.
