One person dead in Durban North house fire
It is unclear what caused the fire, however, the property was extensively damaged.
ONE person has died in a devastating house fire in Rosebery Avenue in Durban North on Saturday morning.
According to reports, an elderly man, believed to be in his 60s, is presumed to have died from smoke inhalation.
While the fire has been extinguished, the home was extensively damaged in the blaze.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst, paramedics and firefighters from the Durban North and uMhlanga fire departments, as well as Marshall Security, were called to the scene earlier this morning.
“The second occupant of the home managed to escape the blaze and was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. Four bystanders, who stepped in to help the occupants of the home, suffered sustained minor injuries to their bodies. One person has been confirmed dead, possibly due to smoke inhalation,” Herbst said.
Greenwood Park SAPS also responded to the scene, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the fire.
