Established and funded by local commercial property owners in 2007, the uMhlanga Urban Improvement Precinct (UIP) has an impressive track record combatting urban decay and enhancing the precinct’s public spaces one special project at a time.
From cleaning graffiti and fixing benches to building the iconic new boardwalk and Forest Café, the UIP in collaboration with eThekwini Municipality is dedicated to creating a safe, cared for environment that supports responsible business activity, enhances property values and creates an enjoyable space for everyone.

- Whalebone Pier upgrade
- Lagoon and Marine Drive traffic calming installation with 7 new speed bumps
